Lyrics

Dear Katie

Katie thought she held the key in a book upon the shelf, talked of history but not about herself. Little did she know her life would soon begin. And in a week or so she’d be back again. He said “No love has ever been so true as these few days I spent with you. I know someday we will meet again, begin again and in another lifetime we can start a new. Dear Katie I never meant to hurt you.

Somewhere on Allegheny, winter of 1901. She saw her destiny they took off on the run. North to Canada, those horses did fly, with him by her side, she said, ”Don’t let them take me alive”.
“No love has ever been so true as these few days I spent with you. I know someday we will meet again, begin again and in another lifetime we can start a new. Dear Katie I never meant to hurt you.
Now she sits alone in a room all by herself and she glares upon the book that’s shut up on the shelf. And even with him gone her love can never die. He’s there by her side and love is alive.
